Phonetics Laboratory

 

The lab is well equipped for making recordings and running speech perception experiments, with a network of brand new Windows PC computers with specialist speech analysis, audio editing and statistical analysis software including Praat, Audacity, SPSS, Matlab and R Studio.

 

There is also a sound-treated recording booth and state-of-the-art recording equipment. Zoom H4n and Nagra portable audio recorders and headphones are available for loan for field recording, and for use in the laboratory electroglottography equipment and an aerometer. Elsewhere in Linguistics, two eye-trackers and an EEG are available.
